Afghanistan

It's a peacefully sunny radiant morning, and you've got a cup of coffee in one hand and a newspaper in the other. You turn to the first page and you begin reading. The headline reads: "Another Canadian soldier dead after another malicious attack by the Taliban". Do you skip the article or continue reading? One would hope that we would be interested in reading and becoming informed about the current situation that our country is involved in. Are we informed? Do we care? What are we doing in Afghanistan? If you can't answer these questions you're not alone. After reading personal journals from a soldier fighting in Afghanistan I felt like my eyes and perception on the situation had been changed. I still don't know if we should be in Afghanistan, but what I know is that there are soldiers that care and are trying to make a difference in the everyday lives of the Citizens of Afghanistan. Now that we know that there are soldiers that care, should we be exploring the situation?
