Imagery

As the girls ran into the nippy crystal clear glacial water their skin began to burst with a tingly sensation that made them scream with its shocking intensity. The waves penetrating into their bare moisturized skin with each clash, swish and clash stinging as they journey flowingly inch by inch by inch. Its glacial attitude invigorates the girls into a rapid flight towards the blaring crowd their breath visible against the shivery air. Suddenly, one of the perilous girls whips around launching her delicate hands into the rigid immobilizing water and with a forceful flick showering her companion drop by drop drenching her and sending her into a shrieking trembling quiver.

Good mornings

puff,puff , cough, cough!
This is what I experience everday as I step out into my ravishingly beautifully brown butt filled lawn. Well it sure has dropped my water bill considering what's the point of watering your lawn if you can't even see its pulchritudinous green shade., so for that I thankyou. Dont get me wrong, as much I enjoy all the rude glares and the impolite attitudes as I try to push by( obvioulsly noone knowing the word excuse me), it makes my mornings quite memorable. You're probably asking yourself, what in the world is she talking about? Well let me tell you my friend, the school's smoke pit has been relocated to my innocent, peaceful and clean cul-de-sac. First of all, I still cant believe how nothing is being done about trying to get these kids to stop smoking, but what really makes me mad is how they don't even have the courtesy to walk the two steps to the garbage can and throw their garabage away! Acctually, my personal favourite is the many naps that some people frequently enjoy, you'd think it was a B and B. It almost makes me feel guilty, should I be bringing you guys coffee in the morning and mabye some breakfast. It seems that I should just be thrilled and priveliged to see their angelic faces every single day and be completley adaptable to whatever they feel like doing.

Woman's Rights

The words,"You cannot rob us of the rights we cherish,Nor turn our thoughts away from the bright picture of a Woman's Mission", reflects how women have an equal eye in modern day society.

The power to think for yourself, voice your own opinion and the freedom to choose your own destiny is something we take for guaranteed living in the 21 century. In the Other Boleyn Girl, by Philippa Gregory, the author writes in the 1600 century where a patriarchal order existed, a structuring of society where the father has total power in the household. Women had limited roles and rights as they lived in a male dominated era, as they were," claimed to dwell, in quiet and seclusion,Beneath the household roof".

The other Boleyn girl

" I felt like a parcel, like the curtains for a bed, or the plates for the top table, or the pewter for the lower tables in the hall" pg 58

As I read this quote, I realized how privileged I was to be able to make my own choices and decide my own future.
In the book, "the other Boleyn girl", Mary Boleyn is an innocent pawn in her family's destructive and cruel plans in scheming to have Mary birth the king's baby. As a female, I can appreciate the comfort in knowing I have my own voice and an equal eye in society. On the other hand, I feel that this quote represents the different perceptions that parents and their kids may have. Parents seem to have a path or direction that they want their kids to follow and encourage them along, which consist of their ambitions and their goals. This may not be a disadvantage but everyone has the power to decide their own future. This quote represents how parenting has changed over the century, from pawning your children as means of prosperity and financial power, to valuing a relationship and having a connection with your children.

Horton Hears a Who

Incredibly compelling, this adaption of Dr.Seuss's Horton Hears a who becomes an adventure the whole family can enjoy while creating a serious of moral lessons for kids. Horton is an amicable elephant who loves the jungle and as one day he was going on his morning walk, hears a faint cry from the speck that is floating about the air. Horton discovers that the speck of dust is actually a tiny world called Whoville. Horton is being scorned by the stern and haughty Kangaroo and his peers for believing that life exists on the speck and that he is poisoning the minds of the children. Horton must find a stable, undisturbed resting place for the contentious world of Whoville to lie on before things get too out of hand with the jungle animals. Brillant animation and creativity which creates a dynamic and fun film that everyone can enjoy.

Afghanistan

It's a peacefully sunny radiant morning, and you've got a cup of coffee in one hand and a newspaper in the other. You turn to the first page and you begin reading. The headline reads: "Another Canadian soldier dead after another malicious attack by the Taliban". Do you skip the article or continue reading? One would hope that we would be interested in reading and becoming informed about the current situation that our country is involved in. Are we informed? Do we care? What are we doing in Afghanistan? If you can't answer these questions you're not alone. After reading personal journals from a soldier fighting in Afghanistan I felt like my eyes and perception on the situation had been changed. I still don't know if we should be in Afghanistan, but what I know is that there are soldiers that care and are trying to make a difference in the everyday lives of the Citizens of Afghanistan. Now that we know that there are soldiers that care, should we be exploring the situation?

Girls story

Full of grace, with her natural golden blonde locks flowing through the air, I watch as she approches casually, giving me that gleaming milliondollar smile and I cant help but feel my heart rapidly beating. As the sun shines on her twinkling hazel eyes, you see such purity, honestly and passion. Such superior intelligence and intelect that one only every desires to achieve. As she walks by, you hear the cliking of her heels as though so was Dorothy to visit the wizard, and a scent that lingers of perfection and delight. Who is this girl? Her name is Anna, the colour of pink and the passion of red. Such exquistie beauty that one can only stare and gaze from a far and hope that one day, somehow, somewhere will have a chance.
